Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Senior Strategic Communications Manager to support the AGS Asia-Pacific, Japan, and China (APJC) Executive and Internal Communications team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of AWS's most dynamic and high-growth regions, supporting a 14,000+ builder community across APJC.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned executive communications strategist who has developed authentic leadership voices for senior executives, built scalable messaging frameworks for complex, matrixed organizations, and demonstrated the judgment to navigate sensitive organizational changes with minimal oversight. You will independently set communications strategy, build frameworks and governance systems, and serve as a trusted advisor who is credible with senior leadership. The role demands original strategic narratives, influence across organizational boundaries without direct authority, and hands-on execution of owned programs, content production workflows, and operational delivery.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop inventive content approaches that cut through noise, translating APJC's world-class wins into compelling stories that shift perception, drive investment decisions, and elevate the region's profile across AWS worldwide audiences.
  • Design communications governance systems that balance centralized excellence with local agility across APJC. Establish vetting criteria for executive communications engagements, approval workflows, and measurement frameworks that ensure narrative consistency across channels and areas.
  • Bring fresh, unexpected thinking to how APJC communicates: challenging conventional formats, proposing new storytelling approaches, and finding creative angles that make leadership communications genuinely memorable. Champion AI-first content creation to scale impact while freeing capacity for higher-order strategic and creative work.
  • Operate as a credible strategic partner, equipping leaders with talking points for global counterpart engagement and converting executive visits into co-sponsored content moments. Influence across organizational boundaries without direct authority, working in close partnership with the Senior Strategic Communications Leader on narrative architecture and strategic direction.
