The Role
The Operations team at Javelin manages the reconciliation, confirmation, documentation, and settlement of commodity products across the full trade lifecycle. Working closely with Trading, Logistics, Commercial, and Trade Finance teams, Operations ensure that risk is captured accurately and that trades are supported efficiently from execution through settlement.
As the business continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated individual to join the Singapore Operations team, with a primary focus on trade documentation and operational controls, and exposure to trade finance and Letters of Credit. This is a dynamic and hands-on role that will complement the responsibilities of the wider Operations group and support the team in achieving its objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform T+1 trade checkouts to ensure accuracy of executed trades
- Draft, review, and manage physical and financial commodity contracts
- Liaise closely with Trading and Logistics teams to resolve operational queries and discrepancies
- Reconcile OTC and exchange-traded positions
- Maintain and update confirmation and reporting databases within internal systems
- Support trade lifecycle processes, ensuring timely and accurate settlement
- Assist with trade documentation related to import/export transactions, including Letters of Credit where applicable
- Liaise with Trade Finance, Commercial, and Operations teams on transaction-related requirements
- Monitor and update daily operational reporting
- Document operational processes and procedures to support controls and scalability
- Assist with operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Skills and Experience Required:
- We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive candidate who ideally comes with some previous experience in a Commodity Operations role or internship.
- Bachelors degree in a relevant subject preferred
- A strong work ethic is required to help drive the team forward and push for technology-based solutions
- Demonstrable organizational skills
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload and judge priority and urgency of requests and issues
- Excellent attention to detail
