Job Description

Experience:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in product or platform development
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing notebook or related hardware programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead programs; collaborate cross-functionally to drive engineering development and implementation for subsystem/components of a product/service offering.
  • Coordinate activities to support project teams and internal/external development partners.
  • Track project progress against established plans; make schedule improvement decisions and allocate resources to meet product requirements and timelines.
  • Develop and manage program schedules, budgets, resource allocation plans, and critical deliverables.
  • Manage program progress, escalations, and issue analysis; collaborate with management, manufacturing, and development partners to resolve issues and implement product/process changes.
  • Work closely with system teams and ODM partners on commodity qualification plans and IUR configuration; ensure timely qualification completion.
  • Track commodity qualification status; collaborate with engineering teams for debugging and solution implementation.
  • Participate in core team meetings; communicate commodity status and highlight critical issues across system teams.
  • Develop mitigation plans for shortage risks.
  • Resolve urgent qualification requests with system, ODM, and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members.
  • Utilize project planning tools to create, manage, and track project outcomes.

Technical & Functional Expertise:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee end-to-end platform development from concept through production, aligning with business and customer objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, design, supply chain, and marketing teams to ensure seamless HW/SW integration.
  • Innovation & Quality Assurance: Lead ground-up hardware development with focus on quality and user experience.
  • Agile Development: Drive schedule acceleration initiatives (e.g., platform pull-in strategies) while maintaining engineering excellence.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and lead cost-saving initiatives at system, module, and commodity levels.
  • SVTP Management: Own System Validation Test Plan (SVTP) documentation; refine test criteria to enhance product quality and reduce risk.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate development challenges and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of product architecture, HW/SW co-design, system integration, and platform-level decisions.
  • Programming & Digital Skills: Hands-on experience with Python, Power BI, and automation/data visualization tools.
  • Domain Knowledge: Exposure to Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), thermal design, or commodity management preferred.
  • Awareness of market and technology trends in notebooks, system performance, and user experience design.
  • Familiarity with PC product development processes and cross-functional collaboration models.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • PMP/PMI certification preferred
  • 46 years of additional relevant industry experience (Panel, Camera, or Battery industry experience is a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation); proficiency in English and Chinese preferred
