Job Description:
The Commodity Business Manager will be responsible for all aspects of supply chain cost, supply source, supply availability management, supply base relationships, strategic sourcing and contract negotiations for MSA of various commodities. Responsible for cost, quality, planning and delivery of materials for Mattson. The commodity Manager will facilitate and/or lead projects and meetings towards innovative material cost reduction strategies. Responsibilities include working closely with suppliers as well as internal Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, Finance, Program Management and Legal departments resulting in strategic supplier relationships that achieve cost-effective procurement decisions for the company.
Responsibilities:
. Development and implementation of sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities for assigned categories to achieve key business goals: Cost Reduction, Lead Time Reduction and Supplier Business Continuity
. Communicate commodity strategies across the organization, the Business Units and NPI Operations to ensure sourcing decisions and product development aligns with strategic supplier selections.
. Formulate negotiation strategy to proactively drive cost reduction with suppliers in a complex, high mix/ low volume environment to meet strategic, operational, and financial performance targets.
. Total commodity ownership, including supplier relationship management in alignment with the needs of the business and the global supply strategy, inclusive of actively approaching the supplier market by means of investigating, screening, pre-selection of and negotiation with new or alternative suppliers.
. Responsible for total commodity performance: KPIs, compliance to agreements and improvement roadmaps
. Maintain and provide current understanding on industry and technology trends for the assigned categories.
. Acting as interface between suppliers and business regarding strategic and tactical issues, pricing, quality while maintaining continuity of supply
. Routinely performs supply risk assessments, and drives mitigation plans accordingly, including setting up and working out of alternative supplier routes regarding the procurement of strategically important and critical products/goods.
Requirements:
. Bachelor's Degree with related experience or master's degree in supply chain management, Engineering, or similar field with at least 7 years of experience in Procurement or Commodity management, with demonstrated increase of responsibilities.
. Experience in semiconductor supply chain management is highly desirable.
. Experience in Build to print, Sheet Metal fabrication, or Machining. Operational background and excel in communicating, Customer Focus, initiative and result driven
