Position: Commis Cook
Salary: Up to S$2.8K/month (Negotiable)
Work Location: One-North or Sentosa
About the Role
Our client operates an exciting food truck concept, bringing high-quality food to customers in a dynamic and vibrant setting. They are looking for a Commis Cook who is passionate about food and eager to grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
In this role, you will support the kitchen team in preparing dishes according to the Chef's recipes and standards while contributing to a positive and efficient team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking and service.
- Set up and organise workstations and cooking stations for smooth service.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen environment.
- Ensure all food items and equipment are properly stored and labelled.
- Conduct an organoleptic assessment to ensure ingredient quality.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or equipment faults to supervisors.
- Assist in menu preparation and development with the team.
- Ensure adequate supplies are available at cooking stations.
- Support the team in optimising cooking processes for speed and quality.
- Follow and enforce SOPs as well as health and safety guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Good communication skills.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and kitchen procedures.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
- Experience using kitchen tools such as cutting, cooking, and baking equipment.
- Previous experience working in a kitchen is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A culinary diploma or related certification will be an advantage.
- Enjoys working in a lively food truck/street food environment.
Working Hours/Days:
One North
- Mondays: Closed
- Tuesdays-Saturdays: 11:00am to 8:00pm
- Sundays: 11:00am to 3:00pm
Sentosa
- 9:00am to 6:30pm
- Either Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays: Half Day
- Wednesdays: Closed
