We are seeking a responsible and motivated Commis Cook I to support daily kitchen operations at Rise & Grind Coffee Co. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, ensure consistency in quality, and maintain high hygiene standards in a fast-paced caf environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to company recipes and SOP
- Perform basic cooking duties including grilling, frying, assembling, and plating
- Prepare ingredients (washing, cutting, marinating, portioning)
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations in accordance with NEA standards
- Support stock control, proper storage, and FIFO practices
- Work closely with senior chefs and kitchen team during service
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant kitchen experience preferred
- Basic understanding of Western or caf-style cuisine
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Team player with positive attitude and willingness to learn
Food Hygiene Certificate required
