Job Scope
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to spearhead business development and portfolio management for our specialized depot operations. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between operational capacity and market demand. You will be responsible for crafting and executing a strategic sales plan that maximizes asset utilization while maintaining healthy margins and high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Planning: Collaborate with Senior Operations leadership to monitor depot loading, identify capacity gaps, and develop a sales plan to target both new and existing accounts.
- Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key decision-makers, ensuring proactive communication and the delivery of value-added solutions tailored to client needs.
- Business Development: Conduct market research and lead generation to identify emerging opportunities and expand the current customer portfolio.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and manage KPIs and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to demonstrate operational excellence and measure client satisfaction.
- Commercial Negotiations: Lead pricing strategies and contract negotiations, ensuring terms are favorable and risks are mitigated through diligent document review.
- Budgeting & Reporting: Define and achieve annual sales budgets; provide regular reporting on sales activity and market trends to inform broader business strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service and Operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery and rapid response to commercial inquiries.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Logistics is required.
- More than 5 years of commercial experience specifically within the tank container depot or liquid bulk logistics sector.
- Proven ability to analyze market structures, define pricing strategies, and manage complex contract negotiations.
- Strong relationship-building capabilities with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to customer management.
- Ability to stay abreast of regulatory changes and emerging technologies within the global logistics landscape.
