Role Description

The Commercial Governance Specialist (Associate-level equivalent) plays a key role in strengthening operational discipline, governance transparency, and alignment across ING's commercial activities. This role supports the Commercial Governance Committee by executing high-quality governance processes, tracking cross-buy commitments and enabling smooth coordination across senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

As the custodian of commercial promises, the incumbent ensures that commitments made during deal approvals are clearly documented, accurately tracked, and delivered.

This is a 6month contract position, renewable subject to business needs and performance

Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial Governance and Decision Support

  • Support the Commercial Governance Committee by documenting commercial decisions, conditions, and required follow-up actions captured accurately and addressed promptly
  • Prepare and submit high quality governance meeting minutes, ensuring they meet documentation standards and are delivered within required timelines.
  • Maintain an organised archive of past minutes to support resubmissions and re-approval requirements.

2. Cross-Buy & Submission Quality Control

  • Validate submissions to ensure there is a clear cross-buy strategy and captures the anticipated timelines/dates for meeting commercial hurdles
  • Track cross-buy commitments and maintain a reliable single source of truth tracker ensuring all updates are accurately reflected in the master tracker.

3. Relationship Journey Oversight

  • Maintain and update the Relationship Journey (e.g., Sector, Country of Origination, Country of Booking, Revised Due Dates).
  • Track delays, amendments, and escalations to ensure transparency and timely updates. Ensure prompt updates captured for deals delayed or deal status updated.

4. Reporting & Accountability

  • Produce monthly reports on cross-buy fulfillment and accountability sign-offs for governance reviews.
  • Escalate material delays, gaps, or non-compliance in a timely manner.

5. Process & Automation Improvements

  • Collaborate with technology teams (e.g., Salesforce) to streamline workflows, improve data quality and enhance reporting automation
  • Recommend governance enhancements to strengthen transparency, effectiveness, reduce manual effort, and improve end-to-end process discipline

6. Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and workflow-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with strong stakeholder-management skills with the ability to prepare structured, high-quality materials for senior audiences.
  • Experienced with governance, frameworks, banking & financial products, and/or credit processes preferred.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Salesforce, including managing trackers, workflows, and dashboards (Power BI or Tableau).
  • Bachelor's degree with 3-4 years relevant experience, preferably in Banking
