Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Director to lead revenue generation and project acquisition for our construction group.
The company operates across general building, civil engineering, earthworks and demolition works in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for originating and securing new projects through industry networks and strategic engagement with developers, consultants, and main contractors.

You will be supported by an established internal team including Project Director, Project Managers, Engineers, and an in-house Tender & Contracts department responsible for costing and submission preparation.

This is a revenue-driving leadership role and will be treated as a business partner with profit-sharing entitlement.
Key Responsibilities

Business Acquisition

  • Source and secure new construction projects for the company

  • Develop and maintain relationships with developers, consultants, government agencies, and main contractors

  • Identify opportunities in building, civil infrastructure, earthworks and demolition sectors

  • Lead negotiations and commercial discussions with clients

  • Convert leads into signed contracts and awarded tenders

Market Development

  • Expand company presence in both public and private sector markets

  • Maintain strong industry network and client database

  • Monitor upcoming tenders, market trends, and competitor activities

  • Propose strategic positioning for project targeting

Commercial Coordination

  • Work with internal Tender & Contracts team on pricing strategy

  • Provide project intelligence and technical inputs during tendering

  • Coordinate with Project Director for execution planning and capability presentation

Strategic Role

  • Act as revenue owner for secured projects

  • Develop long-term client relationships and repeat business channels

  • Participate in company growth planning and expansion strategy

Requirements

  • Minimum 8-10 years experience in construction business development

  • Proven track record securing projects in Singapore construction industry

  • Strong existing network with developers, consultants, or main contractors

  • Good understanding of tender processes and project lifecycle

  • Familiar with BCA / LTA / HDB / PUB / Private project environment (preferred)

  • Strong negotiation and commercial management skills

  • Ability to independently originate revenue opportunities
