As a G10 Rates Trader - Associate within our Rates Trading team, you will play a key role in supporting institutional clients and managing risk across USD Rates products. You'll work closely with senior traders, contribute to market-making, and help optimize risk management for large trades. Your work will directly impact our clients and the firm, while fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture. You'll be empowered to share ideas, solve problems, and build strong client relationships..

Job responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day client requests and trading needs
  • Analyze market drivers, moves, and cross-asset implications
  • Resolve P&L reconciliation issues independently
  • Communicate key developments to relevant stakeholders
  • Balance revenue generation with building a client franchise
  • Execute trades and establish competence with clients
  • Adhere to firm policies for risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure accuracy in post-trade processes and internal controls
  • Share information and ideas to help the team succeed
  • Track supply and demand to provide accurate product information
  • Assist with pre-trade analysis and trade processing

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum 3 years experience in an investment banking environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Economics, Mathematics or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python, VBA, and Excel
  • Detailed understanding of trade booking and P&L implications
  • Ability to calculate and reconcile P&L with minimal guidance
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental and technical aspects of rates products
  • Familiarity with transaction lifecycle and execution processes
  • Ability to communicate concepts clearly to various audiences
  • Comfortable interacting with business clients and management
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
  • Demonstrable proficiency with market and product terminology

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience supporting all aspects of a trading desk
  • Ability to anticipate and explain market movements
  • Knowledge of direct costs along the transaction lifecycle
  • Appreciation for balancing client needs and competitive pressures
  • Experience cultivating client relationships in a trading environment
  • Strong quantitative skills and familiarity with pricing models
  • Proactive approach to sharing knowledge and supporting team success
