Job Description

Brief Summary

Join a dynamic team as a Colour & Material Development Specialist, where your expertise in colour formulations and material science will be pivotal in delivering innovative solutions. This role offers an opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology and contribute to impactful projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine colour formulations utilizing colour theory to meet specific target shades. Perform colour matching across diverse polymer systems while preserving material properties. Operate and interpret data from colour spectrophotometers using SCI and SCE methods. Prepare comprehensive and professional reports for both customer review and internal purposes. Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and translate them into effective formulation solutions. Source and assess alternative raw materials based on performance, cost, and availability. Operate injection molding machines and extruders for producing test samples and colour plaques. Optimize processing parameters to ensure colour consistency and address any defects encountered. Maintain thorough documentation related to formulations, trials, and processing conditions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field. Preferred background in colour matching, masterbatch, or polymer compounding. Required hands-on experience with spectrophotometers (SCI/SCE). Familiarity with injection molding and/or extrusion processes is advantageous. Basic programming skills (e.g., Python) are beneficial. Strong understanding of colour theory and practical colour matching techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Capable of effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
