Assist in conducting coastal hazard and resilience studies, including wave transformation, storm surge, erosion, sediment transport, and flood risk analysis.
Assist in preparation of coastal engineering designs and calculations under senior engineer supervision.
Support the design of coastal structures such as seawalls, revetments, breakwaters, groynes, and beach nourishment projects.
Carry out wave run-up, overtopping, and armour stability analyses.
Prepare technical reports, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
Collaborate with geotechnical, structural, environmental, and landscape teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Participate in site visits, surveys, and data collection to support project development.
Assist in preparing project documentation, including proposals, presentations, and client deliverables.
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices in coastal engineering.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Coastal, Civil, or Ocean Engineering (or equivalent).
1-3 years of experience in coastal engineering or related fields (internship experience is acceptable).
Exposure to numerical modeling tools (e.g., MIKE, Delft3D, XBeach) and GIS.
Knowledge of relevant coastal engineering standards and guidelines (e.g., EurOtop, Rock Manual, USACE).
Basic understanding of nearshore hydrodynamics concepts, coastal morphology and processes, sediment transport processes and/or beach nourishment concepts
Experience with site data collection, surveys, or construction support.
Familiarity with coastal processes, numerical modeling, and design principles.
Proficiency in technical writing and communication.
