Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Coal Trader responsible for the procurement, sales, and marketing of coal. The ideal candidate will possess strong market knowledge, proven international trading experience, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier and customer relationships across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze supply-demand dynamics, price trends, and market developments in the thermal coal sector to support trading and commercial decisions.
- Source, procure, and manage thermal coal supplies, building and maintaining long-term relationships with suppliers to ensure stable and reliable procurement channels.
- Assess mining production conditions and supply processes to evaluate and optimize procurement sources.
- Execute procurement and sales transactions, ensuring smooth deal execution and contractual compliance.
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with market conditions and company objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and trading partners across international markets.
- Identify, assess, and manage market and transactional risks, implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Coordinate logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and delivery, to optimize costs and ensure efficient supply chain operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams as sales, operations, shipping to support end-to-end trade execution and resolve operational issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in International Trade, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of trading experience in coal or related bulk commodities, preferably with international market exposure.
- Strong capabilities in market analysis, negotiation, and contract management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office fluency in English and Mandarin is required for communication with management in China.
- Highly self-motivated, resilient under pressure, and capable of working independently.
- Willingness to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
