Analyzes and determines the most effective material size for production and recommends alternative materials to engineering when appropriate.
Create CNC programming, order tooling, and assist fabrication personnel. Work with software vendors for customization needs.
Ensuring full utilization of programmed materials.
Evaluates requests for new or modified programs to determine feasibility, cost, and time estimates.
Analyzes, reviews, and recommends modifications to existing programs to increase operating efficiency, ensuring compliance with ISO 9002/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
Troubleshoots NC programming issues.
Able recommends techniques to improve existing CAM and internal software products.
Selects and recommends tooling purchases for new equipment in conjunction with engineering. Coordinates purchase of tooling with the tooling department.
Assist in product development and cost reduction.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
Coordinates program start-ups in manufacturing, assists in troubleshooting, and provides recommendations for the selection of cutting tools.
Job Requirement
Certificate or diploma with mechanical background or equivalent combination of education and experience
3-5 years of industrial machinist experience with experience with CAD/CAM/Mastercam
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer blueprints/specifications, purchase orders, tooling concepts, manufacturing processes, technical procedures, operating instructions, etc.
Interpersonal skills are customer-oriented.
Good initiative and a fast learner with good organizing skills.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet software, NC and DNC software, manufacturing software, and database software.
