CNC Mill Turn - Setter

Job Responsibilities:

1. Machine Setup & Tool Setting /

. Responsible for tool setting, tool length and radius offset setting for Mazak Mill-Turn machines.

. Set and manage tool offsets, tool life, and tool numbering.

. Ensure correct setup of spindle, B-axis, C-axis, and live tooling.

2. Program Verification & Trial Run /

. Check Mazatrol / EIA programs against drawings before production.

. Conduct first article setup and trial cutting.

. Adjust cutting parameters to ensure stable machining.

3. Fixture & Workpiece Setup /

. Install and align chucks, collets, soft jaws, fixtures, and centers.

. Set work offsets (G54-G59) and ensure proper alignment and runout control.

4. Measurement & Quality Support /

. Measure first-off parts using appropriate measuring instruments.

. Ensure parts meet drawing and tolerance requirements.

. Communicate with QC on dimensional or machining issues.

5. Production Support & Troubleshooting /

. Support operators during production for technical issues.

. Troubleshoot machining problems such as tool breakage, surface finish issues, or dimensional drift.

. Provide feedback for continuous improvement.

6. Safety & Housekeeping /

. Ensure machine setup complies with safety standards.

. Assist with daily machine checks and basic maintenance checks.

. Maintain cleanliness and organization of setup and tool areas.

Job Requirements /

. Experience with Mazak Mill-Turn machines (e.g., Integrex series).

. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

. Strong setup, alignment, and troubleshooting skills.

. Good communication skills with production and QC teams.
