Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced CMP Manager to lead the Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) engineering team in a high-volume 200mm semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring stable manufacturing performance, driving yield and productivity improvements, supporting process optimization, and leading a team of engineers to achieve operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the CMP Engineering team supporting 200mm wafer manufacturing.
  • Drive yield improvement, defect reduction, process stability, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Monitor and optimize CMP processes to achieve quality, cost, and cycle time targets.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), process qualification, and technology transfer activities.
  • Work closely with Process Integration, Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering, Yield, and Quality teams to resolve process issues.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Utilize SPC, DOE, FDC, and data analysis tools to improve process capability and control.
  • Collaborate with Equipment Engineering to improve tool reliability, uptime, and productivity.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineers while building a strong technical team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Ideal Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline. Master's degree is an advantage.
  • 8-15 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience, with significant hands-on experience in a 200mm wafer fabrication environment.
  • Strong expertise in CMP processes, including oxide CMP, tungsten (W) CMP, copper (Cu) CMP (if applicable), dielectric CMP, and post-CMP cleaning.
  • Proven experience in process optimization, yield enhancement, defect reduction, and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Familiar with SPC, DOE, FDC, APC, and statistical process analysis.
  • Previous experience leading an engineering team or supervising engineers is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
