We are representing our client in the global technology and engineering space to look for an experienced Cloud Engineering Lead to spearhead one of our AWS Cloud Services. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will architect and deliver secure, scalable, and cost-efficient AWS solutions while leading and developing a team of skilled engineers.
In addition to technical leadership, you will act as a key stakeholder partner, ensuring alignment between business objectives and cloud capabilities. Your leadership will shape the evolution of the cloud platform, driving innovation, compliance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- AWS Cloud Engineering: Own the architecture, design, and delivery of secure, scalable, and cost-efficient AWS solutions.
- Team Leadership: Mentor engineers, develop technical capabilities, and foster a culture of collaboration and DevOps excellence.
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted technical advisor, managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Governance & Compliance: Design and implement solutions that meet security, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Infrastructure as Code: Lead automation efforts using Terraform, Terraform Enterprise, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and Ansible Automation Platform to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments.
- Automation & DevOps: Enhance and maintain automation frameworks using Lambda, Step Functions, SSM Documents, and Bash/PowerShell scripting to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead teams, mentor engineers, and manage complex cloud projects.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and manage expectations effectively.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- AWS certifications are advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, and scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
- Familiarity with cloud security frameworks and compliance standards, including CIS Benchmarks and AWS Foundational Security Best Practices.
