Cloud DevSecOps Engineer Job Description (8+ Years Experience/Senior)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloud DevSecOps Engineer with approximately 5 years of handson experience in cloud platforms, CI/CD automation, security integration, and infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and automated cloud environments that support continuous delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Infrastructure & Automation

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Automate operational processes to ensure efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

2. DevSecOps & Security Integration

• Integrate security controls into the CI/CD pipeline, including SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning.
• Implement security best practices such as IAM governance, key management, network security, and secret management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
• Work closely with security teams to conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation.

3. Containerization & Orchestration

• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE).
• Implement service mesh, workload identity, and security hardening for container platforms.

4. Monitoring, Logging & Reliability

• Set up and manage monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
• Implement centralized logging (ELK/EFK, Splunk, Cloud-native logging).
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and adherence to SRE principles.

5. Collaboration & CrossFunctional Support

• Partner with development, QA, and architecture teams to ensure secure and efficient software delivery workflows.
• Provide operational support for cloud workloads and ensure adherence to SLAs.
• Participate in on-call rotations as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or DevSecOps roles.
• Strong experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Experience integrating security tools and best practices into DevOps pipelines.
• Good understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (K8s).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and incident response.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, CKA/CKAD, or Security+.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architectures.
• Experience with API security, WAF, and cloud-native firewalls.
• Familiarity with SRE practices and chaos engineering.
