Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support both on-premises and cloud-based database environments. The role involves ensuring database availability, performance, security, and reliability across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in database administration, cloud migration, automation, and disaster recovery planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain on-premises and cloud databases, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS RDS, and AWS Custom RDS.
  • Configure and support database clusters and high availability setups, including Always On availability groups.
  • Plan and execute database migrations from on-premises environments to cloud platforms such as GCC.
  • Perform database maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, and technical refresh of database systems.
  • Manage backup and recovery processes, including Windows backups and RMAN backups, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine database administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning solutions.
  • Implement and maintain database security controls, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Design and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) setups, and conduct regular DR drills and recovery exercises.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure seamless database operations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience in database administration for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database services such as AWS RDS and AWS Custom RDS.
  • Experience in database clustering, high availability, and failover mechanisms.
  • Proven experience in database migration from on-premises environments to cloud platforms.
  • Experience with backup and recovery tools such as RMAN and Windows Backup.
  • Experience in database patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of database performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization techniques.
  • Experience in automation and scripting for database administration tasks.
  • Hands-on experience in disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing.
