Role Overview:
The Azure Data Architect will design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role involves defining data architecture strategies, ensuring compliance with best practices, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade data platforms with a strong focus on cloud governance and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design end-to-end data architecture leveraging Azure services (Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Databricks, etc.).
- Define data modeling standards and implement optimized data storage solutions.
- Develop strategies for data integration, migration, and transformation using Azure Data Factory and related tools.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into architectural solutions.
- Optimize performance and cost efficiency of data solutions.
- Stay updated with Azure advancements and recommend improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data architecture and solution design on Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services: Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Event Hub, and Cosmos DB.
- Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Spark for data engineering tasks.
- Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred: Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect certification.
Experience:
- 8+ years in data engineering/architecture roles.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure data services.
Preferred Certifications & Tools:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Experience with Power BI, Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Center
