Job Description

The Singapore National Eye Centre/Singapore Eye Research Institute (SNEC/SERI), in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to take on a significant role in this exciting and rapidly developing research group.

He/ She will be expected, but not limited, to:

  • Use novel imaging tools to study the optical coherence tomography (OCT) images of participants
  • Perform data analysis, image processing and modelling on novel ocular imaging data
  • Compile data, summarize and interpret results of the analysis in reports and journal articles
  • Collaborate with other imaging- and data scientists to derive and validate novel image-based algorithms to examine structural and functional visual components
  • Conduct research within SNEC/SERI and NTU in line with its research strategy and under the direction and supervision of the Principal Investigators and Collaborators
  • Actively participate in these research projects in a team-based, cross-functional research environment
  • Publish research outcomes in appropriate journals of international standing and to publish and disseminate the result of research and scholarship in other reputable outlets
  • Attend meetings and to participate (where necessary) in other committees and working groups within SNEC/SERI and NTU
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety in all aspects of work.

Job Requirements

  • Master of Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • Previous experience in statistics, OCT, image analysis and software development in OCT and OCT signal analysis would be an advantage
  • Possess good programming and image processing skills (e.g. MATLAB, Python)
  • Previous experience in medical image analysis and software development
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team-based, cross-functional research team.
