Job Summary
The APAC Medical Education and Clinical Excellence manager is responsible for setting up and executing the APAC Medical Education and Clinical Excellence Strategy for the SET & CMFT BU. This role ensures high-quality, compliant and impactful education that advances clinical practice, and supports safe and effective use of products. Acting as the Segment Leader for SET & CMFT, this role designs comprehensive education pathways, drives faculty engagement, and ensures consistent, high-quality program delivery across diverse markets. In addition, it partners with functions such as Marketing, Sales, Clinical Affairs as well as country teams to elevate capability, standardize best-in-class education and embed a culture of clinical excellence for both internal and external audiences across the region.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and own the APAC medical education and clinical excellence strategy for the SET & CMFT BU portfolio, aligned with global strategy and regional business priorities.
- Translate global education frameworks into regionally relevant programs that reflect market maturity, healthcare system differences, and customer needs.
- Act as the APAC subject-matter expert on SET & CMFT clinical education, surgical techniques, product knowledge and adult learning methodologies.
Medical Education, Clinical Capability & Product Training
- Design and deliver end-to-end medical education programs across the surgeon learning journey (e.g. early career, experienced surgeons, sub-specialists).
- Lead internal clinical skills training for commercial and medical teams, ensuring strong product knowledge, procedural understanding, and safe, compliant application in clinical settings.
- Enable the country teams to confidently articulate product features and navigate clinical objections.
- Oversee cadaveric labs, workshops, symposia, digital education, and in-field learning experiences, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with adult learning principles.
- Define faculty strategy, including identification, development, and engagement of regional and local faculty in line with compliance requirements.
- Partner with country teams to assess external (HCP) and internal (employee) capability gaps and tailor education and training interventions accordingly.
Clinical Excellence & Standards
- Establish and govern APAC clinical excellence standards for SET & CMFT, including best practices for surgical technique, product usage, and outcomes focus.
- Drive standardization of educational content, curricula, and metrics across markets while allowing for local customization where required.
- Promote evidence-based practice by integrating clinical data, outcomes, and real-world evidence into education programs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure education strategies appropriately support product launches and lifecycle management while remaining non-promotional.
- Collaborate with HR / L&D and Commercial Enablement teams to align clinical skills training with broader capability frameworks and competency models.
- Work with R&D and Global Medical teams to incorporate innovation, pipeline products, and new technologies into education plans.
- Collaborate with Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance to ensure all education activities meet internal and external requirements.
Governance, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all medical education activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Establish clear governance processes for program approval, execution, and evaluation.
- Manage education budgets responsibly and track return on education objectives (capability uplift, engagement, quality indicators).
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Define success metrics for medical education and clinical excellence programs, including qualitative and quantitative KPIs.
- Leverage insights from participants, faculty, and country teams to continuously improve program design and impact.
- Monitor trends in adult learning, digital education, and clinical practice to keep APAC programs at the leading edge.

Your Background
Education
- Bachelor's degree required (preferably in technology, healthcare/clinical, or marketing)
Professional Experience
- 7+ years of experience in medical education, medical affairs, clinical training, or a related role within MedTech or healthcare.
- Strong expertise in Orthopedics, including surgical workflows and clinical decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience leading regional or global programs in a matrixed environment.
- Proven ability to design and deliver high-impact education using adult learning principles.
Travel Expectations
Approximately 30-40% within APAC region
