Job Description

Client Side BMS Engineer

Location: Hong Kong

Salary: up to $60k HKD a month + bonus

In the BMS contracting world, the projects never really end. You burn yourself out meeting a deadline, you hand over the keys, and you move on to the next construction site.

You rarely get to stick around to see how the plant actually runs.

You rarely get to tune, optimise, or perfect the logic you wrote.

Instead, you're stuck dealing with cabling issues, chasing sub-contractors, and answering to clients who demand the world but don't understand the tech.

It feels like you're constantly fixing problems, rather than engineering solutions.

But you love the technology. You know how a Chiller Plant should operate. And the money in the industry isn't bad.

Still, could it be better

Of course it could.

A Global Hyperscale Data Centre is ready to hand you the keys.

They are moving their Controls function in-house. This means no more project hopping. You will own the brain of one of the most advanced facilities in Hong Kong.

You are no longer the vendor; you are the Client.

This takes away the need to scramble for billable hours. Your only KPI is uptime and efficiency.

Plus, the Data Centre sector is the most stable industry on the planet right now. While construction slows down, operations never stop.

Here, you are a Laptop Warrior. You put down the multimeter and the screwdriver, vendors handle the physical repairs.

Your primary function will be high-level engineering. You'll be working at the intersection of IT and OT, using SQL databases to analyse terabytes of operational data and tweaking logic to save megawatts of power.

You'll be the person detecting network packet issues before they become alarms. You'll be the one optimising the cooling loop, not just keeping it running.

All we ask is that you know Tridium Niagara (or a similar high-level framework), understand the physics of a Chiller, and are ready to work in an environment where IT and Engineering merge.

If you're an experienced Project Engineer tired of the contractor grind and want to own, optimise, and lead let's have an informal chat.
