Job Summary
The Delivery Driver (Class 4) is responsible for safely driving, delivering goods, collecting payments if needed, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload items from the vehicle and deliver them accurately to customers
- Follow Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and company training for collection, transport, and delivery of goods
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately and legibly, including cash on delivery (COD) documents, and return them to base after shifts
- Apply proper reaching, lifting, and handling techniques during deliveries using appropriate equipment
- Inspect the vehicle and equipment before shifts, report defects or deficiencies immediately to superiors
- Review and verify invoices and CODs for accuracy before delivery
- Adhere to assigned delivery routes and time windows to ensure timely deliveries
- Follow instructions and duties as briefed by direct superiors
- Comply with health and safety guidelines according to company policies and procedures
- Wear the company uniform according to work wear, hygiene, and infection control policies
- Prepare the vehicle by performing all required checks before starting shifts and keep the vehicle tidy, removing personal belongings after shifts
- Drive safely by adhering to the Highway Code and speed limits at all times
- Observe and comply with all workplace safety standards, protocols, and responsibilities relevant to the assigned work environment
