Class 3 Driver (Ambulance Van)

Job Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from the nursing home, hospitals, and external appointments using company vehicles.

• Drive ambulance or patient transport vehicles in compliance with traffic regulations and safety protocols.

• Assist wheelchair-bound and mobility-impaired residents during boarding and alighting, ensuring proper securing and handling.

• Operate wheelchair lifts, ramps, and patient transport equipment safely and correctly.

• Support residents with basic transfer needs where required, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.

• Ensure the safety of residents, staff, road users, and the general public during all journeys.

• Conduct daily vehicle checks (fuel, tyres, brakes, lights, cleanliness) and report any defects promptly.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle, including regular washing and interior sanitisation as per schedule.

• Drive safely under all road and weather conditions, adhering to nursing home and MOH guidelines.

• Assist with ad-hoc duties related to resident transport and logistics when required.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Class 3 driving licence

• Minimum 2 years of experience driving vans, ambulances, or patient transport vehicles.

• Prior experience as an ambulance driver, emergency medical technician (EMT), or paramedic is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with patient handling, wheelchair restraints, and basic medical transport protocols.

• Physically fit and able to assist residents with mobility needs.

• Good driving record with no serious traffic offences.

• Calm, responsible, and able to remain composed when handling elderly or medically fragile residents.

• Basic knowledge of first aid or patient care is an advantage.

• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays if required.
