Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to the tanker operations team in managing demurrage and other shipment-related claims
• Conduct laytime analysis to evaluate demurrage liabilities and inform customers of any potential claims
• Ensure prompt and consistent communication with customers regarding claim submissions, progress updates, and approaching time-bar deadlines
• Actively engage in discussions and diligently follow up on all unresolved claims until they are fully settled
• Update and maintain a database with shipment details, claim information, and status tracking
• Issue invoices and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding payments
• Develop familiarity with shipping documents, charter party agreements, and their interpretations to enhance negotiation capabilities during claim discussions
• Support the department with documentation, administrative tasks, and other duties as directed by the department head

Requirements:

• Diploma in Maritime Studies or a relevant discipline
• Prior exposure to claims handling or commercial shipping operations would be an advantage
• Cheerful, proactive, and eager-to-learn individual
• Highly self-motivated, detail-focused, and thorough in work approach
