Description
We are partnering with a global energy company specialising in energy trading, shipping and distribution, with an established international fleet and integrated logistics platform. They are looking for an experienced claims professional to support demurrage, laytime, voyage-related claims and time-charter administration within its Singapore office.
Role
Reporting to Head of Operations. The role is responsible for managing demurrage, laytime, Panama waiting and other voyage-related claims, including preparing calculations, supporting documentation, claim submissions, counterclaims, accruals, settlements and payment tracking in accordance with contractual terms and internal procedures. The incumbent will follow up with counterparties and operators on outstanding claims such as cargo cooling and speed-up costs, maintain accurate records across internal claims systems and ensure timely resolution and escalation where required. Additional responsibilities include managing original bill of lading endorsements, administering time-charter hire invoices and payments, processing off-hire and bunker adjustments, handling SPV-related costs and re-billings, supporting vessel performance claims, preparing periodic reports.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a Degree in Maritime Studies, or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in demurrage or claims. Experience supporting trading operations is preferred. The candidate should have working knowledge of demurrage and laytime calculations, along with a basic understanding of charter party terms, voyage operations and Incoterms. Strong analytical, numerical, communication and attention-to-detail skills are essential, together with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
