Job Description

Job Responsibilities - Civil Quantity Surveyor

  1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting
    Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects.
    Develop project budgets and monitor costs to ensure compliance with financial limits.
  2. Tendering & Procurement
    Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities (BOQ), and contracts.
    Evaluate contractors and suppliers quotations and recommend suitable options.
    Assist in procurement of materials and subcontractor services.
  3. Contract Administration
    Draft, review, and manage contract agreements.
    Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
    Prepare and assess variations, claims, and change orders.
  4. Project Cost Control
    Track project expenses and prepare regular cost reports.
    Identify and analyze deviations between planned and actual costs.
    Provide financial forecasts and advice to project managers.
  5. Measurement & Valuation
    Conduct on-site measurements of completed works.
    Verify contractors progress claims and certify interim/final payments.
  6. Risk & Value Management
    Perform cost-benefit analysis to optimize project value.
    Advise on risks, cost-saving methods, and alternative construction solutions.
  7. Reporting & Documentation
    Prepare project progress, financial, and cost reports for management.
    Maintain accurate records of all contractual and financial matters.
  8. Collaboration
    Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and clients.
    Liaise with legal and finance teams on contractual and financial issues.

Job Requirements - Civil Quantity Surveyor

  1. Education & Certification
    Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
    Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, AIQS, SISV, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  2. Experience
    Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in civil, building, or infrastructure projects.
    Proven track record in cost estimation, tendering, and contract administration.
  3. Technical Skills
    Proficient in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost analysis, and valuation.
    Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
    Skilled in contract law, FIDIC, or standard forms of contracts.
    Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Excel, and QS/estimating software.
  4. Soft Skills
    Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
    Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    Detail-oriented with good organizational ability.
    Ability to work independently and in a team under tight deadlines.
