Job Summary

We are seeking a Civil Engineer with a PhD in Civil Engineering (Materials), deep expertise in carbon-negative materials, LCA/TEA for Low-Carbon Construction Materials, carbon accounting, and Green Finance.
In this role, you will support the company's sustainability initiatives and integrate low-carbon solutions into ongoing construction projects. The role requires both technical expertise in green practices and hands-on involvement in project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Formulate, implement and execute corporate green and low-carbon strategies, conduct project carbon footprint analysis (including embodied carbon and operational carbon), compile sustainability & ESG documents, and assist in preparing sustainability reports and ESG-related documentation.

2. Collaborate with project teams to apply green design & eco-friendly construction, advise low-carbon material selection, optimize construction methods, track on-site green performance, and support the company's sustainability initiatives by integrating low-carbon solutions into ongoing construction projects-this role requires both technical expertise in green practices and hands-on involvement in project execution.
3. Promote BIM, carbon tracking tools and sustainable construction innovations, join green tech pilot projects, and identify opportunities for carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and resource optimization.
4. Lead applied research on carbon-negative cementitious materials, low-carbon concrete, recycled/upcycled construction materials, and circular economy solutions for infrastructure.
5. Translate research outcomes into scalable, cost-effective materials for projects, reducing embodied carbon and enhancing sustainability.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, ESG) to evaluate green investment risks, carbon credit opportunities, and sustainable project financing.
7. Identify carbon reduction hotspots and propose data-driven decarbonization strategies for materials and supply chains.
8. Partner with project teams (engineering, procurement, construction) to integrate low-carbon material specifications into design, tender, and execution phases.
9. Provide on-site technical support for sustainable material deployment, ensuring compliance with BCA Green Mark, LEED, and local sustainability standards.
10. Collaborate with procurement to drive green sourcing of low-carbon materials, evaluating supplier ESG performance and carbon credentials.
11. Contribute to the development of green construction material standards and best practices for Singapore and regional markets.
12. Monitor global and regional trends in low-carbon materials, carbon markets, and sustainability regulations to keep CCCC at the forefront of green infrastructure.
13. Other ad-hoc activities.

Requirements

1. PhD in Civil Engineering, Sustainable Construction, or Environmental Engineering.
2. Proven track record in low-carbon/carbon-negative materials R&D.
3. Hands-on experience with LCA/TEA for Low-Carbon Construction Materials, carbon accounting, and green construction consulting.
4. With experience in NEA & LTA and familiar with Singapore NEA & LTA sustainability standards.
5. Strong technical skills: finite element analysis, material characterization, Python/MATLA.
6. Good communication & teamwork skills, independent working ability and strong analytical thinking.
7. ESG & green finance knowledge.
