Job Description

My client is looking for a passionate and dedicated experienced Chinese Teacher to join their enrichment centre team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Chinese language lessons to students ranging from preschool (3-6 years old) to primary school levels (P1-P6). This role requires strong classroom management skills, the ability to create a positive learning environment, and a genuine passion for nurturing children's interest and proficiency in the Chinese language.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver Chinese language lessons aligned with curriculum standards for preschool and primary school students.
  • Conduct interactive teaching sessions that build students reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
  • Prepare teaching materials, worksheets, and learning activities to support student engagement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through classwork, assignments, and regular feedback.
  • Maintain a conducive and safe learning environment in the classroom.
  • Communicate with parents regarding their child's learning progress and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support centre operations such as student registration, holiday programmes, and parent-teacher meetings when required.
  • Participate in curriculum development, training, and team meetings.

Requirements

  • At least a Diploma or Degree in Chinese Language, Education, Linguistics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Mandarin, with the ability to teach Chinese as a first or second language.
  • 7-10+ years of teaching experience (preschool and/or primary school), especially with consistent track records in reputable enrichment centres or schools.
  • Curriculum development experience, such as designing lesson plans, teaching materials, or Chinese enrichment programmes.
  • Good command of English to communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage young learners in a fun, structured environment.
  • Familiarity with MOE Chinese curriculum for primary levels.
  • Willingness to work on weekends, as most classes take place on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
  • Passion for teaching and working with children, with a patient and positive attitude.
