We are looking for a dynamic IB Chinese Teacher to join our international faculty. Whether your expertise lies in the foundational inquiry and the conceptual frameworks of IB, or the academic rigor of the PYP/MYP/DP, we invite you to apply. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality Chinese language instruction that aligns with the IB's mission of developing inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people.
Instructional Excellence
IB Framework Delivery: Teach up to 36 periods per week, demonstrating expert knowledge of IB concepts, inquiry-based learning, and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills.
Curriculum Design: Collaborate on the development of unit plans (UOI for PYP, Unit Planners for MYP/DP) that incorporate interdisciplinary learning and global contexts.
Assessment & Differentiation: Target learning to students specific aptitude levels and linguistic backgrounds. Utilize formative and summative assessments to drive student growth.
Inclusion: Work closely with the Student Support Department to ensure all learners are supported and challenged.
Professional & Holistic Contribution
Holistic Education: Lead or coach an after-school Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) and supervise students during break/lunch periods.
School Community: Serve as a Homeroom Teacher if assigned, providing pastoral care and mentorship to a dedicated group of students.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in school committees, workgroups, and professional development sessions (including occasional weekends or after-school meetings).
Representation: Act as a positive presence and professional representative of the school within the wider community.
Academic Background: Bachelor's degree in Chinese Literature, Education, or a related field.
Professional Experience: 2-3 years of teaching experience in an international school environment is preferred.
IB Expertise: Direct experience or training in at least one IB programme is highly desirable.
Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of curriculum mapping and development.
Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to being culturally and linguistically responsive.
