About the Role
We are seeking a visionary and execution-oriented Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the company's global technology strategy, architecture, engineering delivery, infrastructure, security, and innovation agenda. The CTO will play a critical role in shaping the future of our fintech platform, driving scalable technology development across payments, digital assets, card issuance, lending, treasury, compliance, and financial services infrastructure.
As a member of the executive leadership team, the CTO will work closely with Product, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Business leaders to build world-class technology capabilities that support rapid business growth, regulatory requirements, and global expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the company's long-term technology vision, roadmap, and architecture strategy.
- Lead technology decisions across platform engineering, product engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI, and data.
- Ensure technology investments align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and growth plans.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and competitive advantage.
Engineering Management
- Build, lead, and scale high-performing engineering teams across multiple locations.
- Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, SDLC processes, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Drive agile delivery methodologies and improve engineering productivity and execution excellence.
- Develop succession plans and leadership capabilities within engineering teams.
Platform Architecture & Scalability
- Design and oversee highly available, secure, and scalable financial technology infrastructure.
- Lead architecture decisions for:Payments and acquiring systemsCross-border remittance platformsCard issuing and processingDigital asset infrastructureTreasury and liquidity managementLending platformsAPI and embedded finance solutions
- Ensure systems are built with scalability, resilience, and regulatory compliance in mind.
Information Security & Risk Management
- Establish enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategies and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and audit requirements across all jurisdictions.
- Oversee business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response programs.
- Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to maintain robust operational controls.
Product & Business Partnership
- Collaborate with Product Management to deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Support business expansion initiatives by enabling technology capabilities required for new products, licenses, and markets.
- Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on technology-related opportunities and risks.
Data, AI & Innovation
- Drive adoption of AI, machine learning, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Build scalable data platforms and analytics capabilities.
- Explore emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with strategic technology vendors, cloud providers, system integrators, and partners.
- Participate in board, investor, regulator, and client discussions related to technology strategy and capabilities.
- Oversee technology budgeting, resource allocation, and cost optimization initiatives.
Requirements
Experience
- 15+ years of technology leadership experience, including 5+ years in a CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, or equivalent executive role.
- Proven experience scaling technology organizations in fintech, payments, banking, digital assets, financial infrastructure, or high-growth technology companies.
- Strong understanding of regulated financial services environments.
- Experience building and operating mission-critical, high-volume transaction systems.
- Demonstrated success leading geographically distributed engineering teams.
Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of modern software architecture, cloud-native infrastructure, and distributed systems.
- Experience with:Public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Microservices architectureAPI ecosystemsDevOps and CI/CD frameworksData platforms and analyticsCybersecurity and infrastructure resilience
- Knowledge of payments, card schemes, digital assets, treasury, or banking systems is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience obtaining and supporting regulated financial licenses (e.g., Payment Institution, EMI, MSO, SFC, TCSP, Digital Asset, Banking).
- Experience leading engineering teams across Asia-Pacific markets.
- Background in fintech infrastructure, embedded finance, digital assets, payments, or banking technology.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA or equivalent business qualification is a plus.
