Responsibilities:
Assist in coordinating, arranging and timely follow up of Oil Major Vetting Inspections as directed.
Attend vessels to conduct Marine Inspections and pre-vetting inspections as directed. Ensure follow-up of all deficiencies noted during vessel attendance is recorded and filed.
Conduct annual onboard navigation audits. Input navigation audit results into the database and follow up on all deficiencies and defects to closure.
Assist in the investigation and root cause analysis of accidents, marine casualties and near misses.
Assist in arranging external safety audits and onboard training by co-coordinating with the appointed audit or training company.
Follow up in cosmetic upgradation (Painting)
Monitor and support all vessels (In coordination with OPS) on operational issues (Loading / discharging / tank cleaning / grade change.
Assist in the implementation of ASL Ship Management's Health, Safety, Security, Quality and Environmental Policies including sailing onboard for short voyages for onboard implementation of the HSSEQ System for new vessels.
Assist in periodical management review of ASL HSSEQ system, record findings from the reviews and propose actions if necessary.
Assist in maintenance and updating of the HSSEQ Management System.
Assist in establishing annual ISM & ISPS audit plans, arrange and co-ordinate internal audits, take part in audits and follow-up correction actions.
Assist in preparation, implementation and maintenance of office and vessel's contingency plans.
Liaise with the vessels in safety, navigation, operations, health, quality, security and environmental matters, including monthly response to vessels relating to Vessel Monthly Safety Reports and Near Miss Reports.
Assist in reviewing all safety-related reports from the vessels.
Requirements
Min 8-10 years experience (at sea)
Experience in chemical tankers
Min 3-year sailing experience as Chief Officer on Chemical Tankers (with a preferred with sailing experience on parcel tankers)
Hold relevant maritime certifications such as Chief Officer's certificate or Master's license (added advantage)
Experience in Ship Vetting by majors, Ship and Terminal Operations
Knowledge of maritime regulations
Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and willingness to travel
