We are looking for a Chief of Staff to provide strategic and financial support to the President at our parent company, Caldecott Music Group — a global ecosystem behind a portfolio of music companies spanning digital creation (BandLab Technologies), media (NME), and manufacturing, retail, and distribution (Vista Musical Instruments).
Why this role
This role partners closely with the President & Co-Founder on strategic, financial, and operational priorities across the group, and is a high-speed apprenticeship in senior leadership. It offers direct exposure to high-impact decisions across M&A, partnerships, and global strategy, with the opportunity to work across multiple parts of the business rather than within a single function.
The Chief of Staff will act as a force multiplier to the President, helping structure decisions, drive key initiatives, and ensure alignment across teams. For the right person, this role provides a pathway into senior leadership positions within the group.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Analysis & Strategic Planning
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate acquisitions, partnerships, and capital allocation strategies across the group.
- Investment Analysis: Conduct valuation analysis, including DCF and comparable company analysis, for potential organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
- Performance Tracking: Develop and monitor KPIs and financial metrics for CMG's business units.
- Group Strategy: Coordinate and contribute to strategic roadmap, budgeting and strategic planning processes, ensuring financial targets align with the group's long-term objectives.
2. Partnerships, Business Development & M&A
- Transaction Coordination: Lead end-to-end M&A processes, including managing deal flow, overseeing due diligence workstreams with external advisors, and maintaining virtual data rooms.
- Business Development & Partnerships: Support the President in the commercial and financial structuring of global partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisition targets.
- Investor Relations & Market Intelligence: Produce data-driven research on market trends and competitor strategy to identify potential M&A targets, strategic partners and investors within the music and media sectors.
- External Engagement: Serve as a point of contact for corporate partners, investment banks, legal counsel.
3. Executive Support & Business Operations
- Strategic Proxy: Act as a thought partner to the President, helping structure priorities and decisions, and driving cross-functional initiatives to ensure teams keep momentum and hit their targets.
- Strategic Communication: Manage investor updates and draft materials for board-level discussions to ensure a unified voice across the group.
- Systems & Automation: Proactively identify inefficiencies and use AI tools to automate group-wide workflows (e.g., building a partner CRM or streamlining reporting).
- Operational Cadence: Improve meetings, follow-ups, and decision tracking to increase overall organizational effectiveness.
