Job Mandate
The Chief of Staff serves as a trusted strategic partner to the Chief Executive of BDO Singapore, responsible for driving execution of strategic priorities, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and ensuring alignment across business units.
This role acts as a force multiplier, enabling leadership to focus on high‑impact decisions while ensuring disciplined follow‑through, governance, and communication across the bank.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Execution
- Partner with the Chief Executive and senior leadership to translate corporate strategy into executable initiatives
- Track and manage strategic priorities and enterprise-wide initiatives
- Prepare board‑level and executive presentations, strategy papers, and decision briefs
- Identify risks, interdependencies, and mitigation strategies for key initiatives
2. Executive Management & Governance
- Act as an advisor and sounding board to the Chief Executive on strategic, operational, and organizational matters
- Support preparation for Board of Directors, Management Committee, and key regulatory meetings
- Ensure decisions made by leadership are documented, communicated, and executed
- Monitor follow‑ups and ensure timely delivery of agreed outcomes
3. Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Drive alignment across business, risk, compliance, finance, technology, and operations
- Resolve bottlenecks and escalate issues objectively and constructively
- Lead cross‑functional task forces for major initiatives (e.g., transformation, integration, remediation)
4. Performance & Business Management
- Oversee management reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and performance reviews
- Support annual business planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles
- Track financial and non‑financial performance against targets
- Provide data‑driven insights to improve productivity and decision‑making
5. Regulatory Risk and Control Oversight
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure regulatory expectations are met
- Support leadership in managing MAS interactions, audits, and supervisory reviews
- Ensure strong governance, controls, and issue remediation discipline
6. Organizational Effectiveness & Culture
- Support leadership in shaping organizational structure, talent strategy, and succession planning
- Drive internal communications and leadership messaging
- Champion a high‑performance, ethical, and inclusive culture
- Support change management and transformation initiatives
7. Special Projects & CEO Office Support
- Lead confidential, high‑impact projects on behalf of the CEO
- Support M&A, partnerships, transformation, or crisis management efforts
- Act as proxy for the CEO in selected internal forums when required
