Role Description
This executive leadership role is responsible for managing the financial health, capital strategy, and long-term value creation of an organization. It oversees finance operations, budgeting, reporting, treasury, investor confidence, profitability, and strategic decision-making.
- Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a C-suite executive responsible for enterprise-wide financial leadership, capital allocation, governance, and strategic growth decisions
- Finance Director focuses on leading finance functions, performance management, reporting, controls, and supporting executive decision-making (often reporting to CFO or acting as top finance head in mid-sized firms)
Key Responsibilities
- Leading overall financial strategy, planning, and long-term value creation
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and business performance reviews
- Overseeing accounting, tax, treasury, cash flow, and financial controls
- Driving profitability improvement, cost optimization, and margin expansion
- Managing fundraising, banking relationships, debt, and capital structure
- Leading investor relations, board reporting, and shareholder communications
- Ensuring compliance with audit, regulatory, and governance requirements
- Supporting M&A, due diligence, and corporate development activities
- Building finance teams, systems, and scalable processes
- Advising CEO and board on growth strategy, risks, and investments
Qualifications (Must-have)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
- 10–20+ years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, treasury, or executive leadership roles
- Proven leadership experience managing enterprise finance functions
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, controls, and strategic finance
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L ownership
- Strong commercial acumen and decision-making ability
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in high-growth or complex business environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or CFA
- Experience with finance systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Financials Cloud, Workday Financial Management, or NetSuite
- Background in firms such as PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, or EY
- Experience in IPO readiness, fundraising, PE/VC-backed companies, or listed entities
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
- International / regional leadership experience across Singapore, APAC, UAE, Europe, or US markets
- Strong exposure to tax structuring, treasury, and corporate finance
- MBA or advanced finance qualification is highly valued
- Prior Controller, Head of FP&A, Finance Director, or Investment Banking background is common
