Job Description

ABOUT QAI VENTURES

QAI Ventures is a venture builder specializing in Quantum AI with offices in Switzerland, Canada, and Singapore. Together with co-founders, we identify, structure, and build companies at the intersection of quantum computing and artificial intelligence—from the initial hypothesis to an investment-ready enterprise.

Our approach combines scientific depth with entrepreneurial execution. QAI brings initial validation, customer access, IP structuring, program funding, and an extensive network of corporate partners, investors, and deep-tech experts to the table. Co-founders join as true founding partners—not as employees working on a finished product—and build the company together with us from a validated starting point.

In Singapore, QAI Ventures is part of an active ecosystem of corporate partners, quantum hardware providers, and Tier-1 financial institutions. Our venture-building programs are structured into clearly defined phases with milestones, stage gates, and mutually agreed-upon equity structures.

ABOUT Q-FRAUD

Q-Fraud is a startup initiated by QAI Ventures in the field of quantum-inspired fraud detection for banks and payment processors. The company addresses a structural problem in the existing fraud detection infrastructure that has been independently validated by several Tier-1 market participants.

The regulatory context is intensifying the pressure to act: New liability regimes in the UK, Singapore, Australia, and the EU are increasingly holding financial institutions directly financially liable for fraud incidents—thereby creating budgets and mandates to fundamentally redesign anti-fraud infrastructure.

Q-Fraud is in the early stages of the QAI Venture Building Program. The founding team is currently being assembled. Those who join now will help shape the company from the very beginning.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As CEO of Q-Fraud, you are the commercial driving force and the public face of the venture. You translate deep domain knowledge in fraud and payments into commercial traction: signed PoCs, validated use cases, and robust relationships with fraud, risk, and product teams at leading financial institutions.

You will work in close partnership with the CTO, CPO, and QAI Ventures to build the company in Phase 1, and lead it through formal incorporation, PoC execution, and external fundraising in Phase 2. The role sits at the intersection of domain expertise, sales, and company building—with full responsibility for commercial development.

Tasks

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

▌ 1. Commercial Development & Sales

Commercial Validation & GTM

  • Develop a GTM strategy and lead all sales activities with financial institutions

  • Define and validate use cases and ideal customer profiles

  • Structure and secure PoCs with access to real transaction data

  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for corporate partners and their fraud, risk, and technology teams

  • Generate LOIs and PoC agreements through your own network and in parallel with QAI-led business development

Domain Expertise & Product Direction

  • Clearly articulate existing fraud detection systems, their architecture, and operational limitations, and credibly advocate for them to target customers

  • Define requirements for a new generation of anti-fraud solutions based on the weaknesses of current approaches and the needs of target customers

  • Identify and communicate the integration path for Q-Fraud into existing systems without system replacement

  • Ensure full coverage of regulatory requirements: auditability, explainability, compliance frameworks

▌ 2. Company Building & Leadership

  • Build and lead the venture and founding team together with QAI throughout the entire venture-building program

  • Define the business model, ownership structure, and IP framework together with QAI

  • Co-develop a financing strategy and financing plan for the growth stage

  • Jointly identify and fill the remaining co-founder role (CPO)

  • Build the team beyond the founding trio as soon as the venture scales

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field; MBA or comparable qualification preferred

Professional Experience

  • At least 5 years of operational experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or payment processing at a bank, card network, or payment processor

  • In-depth understanding of existing fraud detection systems: their architecture, limitations, and operational realities within financial institutions

  • Proven track record in revenue generation, closing deals, or building B2B/enterprise customer relationships

  • Previous experience in a startup, scale-up, or venture-building environment is required—as a founder, former employee, or in an entrepreneurial role is desirable

Venture building & commercial execution

  • Ability to build from the ground up without established processes and structures and to make decisions under uncertainty

  • Experience working with corporate partners and navigating complex B2B sales cycles in the financial sector

  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks into product positioning and sales pitches

  • Experience in structuring and negotiating commercial agreements such as PoCs, LOIs, or strategic partnerships

Personal & Professional Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: You see yourself as a creator, not a manager

  • Willingness to make a personal financial commitment to the venture

  • Coachability: Openness to structured feedback and mentoring within the QAI program framework

  • Long-term commitment: multi-year startup commitment, no short-term consulting work

  • Fluency in English; residence in or willingness to relocate to Singapore

Benefits

WHAT QAI VENTURES OFFERS

  • In-house team with expertise in electronic payments, venture building, quantum physics, and communications – on board from day one

  • Direct access to Tier-1 card networks, processors, issuers, and major banks that are already integrated into the process

  • Bridge financing for Phase 1; infrastructure for legal, HR, and governance; IP strategy; fundraising architecture

  • In-house QAI team support throughout the entire program (we actively participate!)

  • Practical support with capital raising and access to global investors for post-Phase 2 financing

Location & Presence

  • To be founded in Singapore, operating global

  • A hybrid working model is possible; during the venture-building phase, we work in sprint mode, and a physical presence in Singapore is required during this time. Between sprints, remote work is possible.
