About Forindo Singapore

Forindo is the strategic procurement arm of RGE Group, reporting directly to executive management. We manage the consolidated sourcing of critical raw material categories — chemicals, energy, packaging, and MRO — that feed RGE's global manufacturing operations across Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Brazil, and Canada.

The Opportunity

You will own a high-value chemicals portfolio — primarily caustic soda and sodium methylate — with annual spend of USD 80–150 million across RGE's global mill network. This is a front-line commercial role where your procurement decisions directly impact the Group's cost position, supply resilience, and competitive advantage. You will operate with significant autonomy in a fast-paced corporate team, with direct visibility to executive management. The level (Manager or Assistant Manager) will be calibrated to your experience and demonstrated ability to manage portfolio complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute the commodity procurement strategy for your assigned chemicals portfolio, ensuring cost, quality, delivery, and supply reliability targets are met across all RGE mills globally.
  • Make timely, well-reasoned purchasing decisions grounded in commodities market analysis, leveraging your commercial acumen to capture value and manage price risk.
  • Lead structured negotiations with global and regional suppliers to secure optimal commercial terms, demonstrating command of key stages of the trade/deal lifecycle.

Stakeholder & Partnership Development

  • Influence and align a diverse range of commercial and non-commercial stakeholders — including mill teams, BG operational heads, and senior leadership — to support corporate procurement objectives across multiple geographies.
  • Build and sustain strategic supplier partnerships that ensure long-term supply security and competitive positioning for the Group.
  • Deliver regular, insightful market intelligence updates and commodity strategy recommendations to senior stakeholders, establishing yourself as the Group's subject-matter authority on your portfolio.

Supply Chain & Operational Excellence

  • Manage end-to-end supply chain execution for your categories, including logistics coordination across bulk carrier vessels and container shipments.

RGE Ad-hoc Projects

  • Lead ad-hoc group-level procurement projects as assigned, contributing to Forindo's broader strategic agenda.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must-Have

  • Minimum 5 years of physical commodity trading experience, OR minimum 6 years of strategic procurement experience. Candidates with a strong commercial mindset from adjacent fields are welcome to apply.
  • Hands-on experience across key stages of the commercial trade/deal lifecycle — from market analysis through negotiation and execution — with proven results in managing a portfolio or achieving procurement targets set by management.
  • Experience managing logistics for both bulk carrier vessels and container shipments.
  • Professional proficiency in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken) — required due to the nature of our organization's operating environment.
  • Degree in Business Management or a related field from a reputable university.
  • Willingness to travel 15–25% (approximately once per month), with the ability to plan and execute overseas business trips with minimal supervision.
  • Character: A proactive self-starter who stays focused and delivers results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Operates with integrity and full compliance, communicates with clarity and conviction, and contributes as a team player while taking ownership of outcomes.

Good-to-Have

  • Direct experience in caustic soda or sodium methylate procurement or trading.
  • Training or demonstrated skill in structured negotiation methodologies.
  • Prior experience in a group or corporate procurement function managing consolidated spend across multiple geographies.
  • Familiarity with RGE's operating sectors (pulp & paper, viscose, oleochemicals) or adjacent process industries.

Why Join Us

  • High-impact portfolio ownership — USD 80–150M annual spend with direct visibility to executive management in a global, resource-based conglomerate.
  • Ownership in an agile, high-trust team — Shape strategy with entrepreneurial freedom and direct access to decision-makers.
  • Growth within the RGE ecosystem — Forindo sits at the corporate centre, offering exposure to multiple business groups and categories, with natural pathways into broader procurement leadership.
