Responsibilities
- Oversee the distillation process to transform spent waste material into usable products. Ensure the plant operates within safe operational parameters and manage the safe transfer of flammable materials. Collaborate closely with the laboratory for waste and product sampling, following standard operating procedures (SOP). Coordinate with teams for the resale of items, ensuring adequate storage capacity and safe treatment of products. Monitor plant performance and efficiency related to recovery yield and utility consumption. Execute startup and shutdown operations as per SOP and accurately record process data, reporting any deviations. Timely identify and resolve process disruptions and equipment malfunctions, working alongside engineering teams to implement preventive measures. Conduct routine inspections to detect leaks, spills, and safety hazards, ensuring safe handling of hazardous materials. Participate in training programs to enhance chemical and safety knowledge while promoting a culture of safety and organisation (5S).
Requirements
- Minimum NITEC/Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field. Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, email, internet research). Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and shift work.
