Job Summary
The Production Area Owner plays a critical leadership role in managing daily production operations within the Battery Recycling Plant. This role is accountable for production planning, process stability, quality performance, and team execution, ensuring manufacturing targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established work instructions. You will lead and develop production teams, manage resources, resolve operational challenges, and ensure consistent execution across shifts while maintaining a strong focus on safety, housekeeping, and equipment reliability.
In this role, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, partner closely with Engineering and Maintenance teams, and use data‑driven insights to improve productivity, quality, and capacity utilisation. As a key contributor to plant performance, you will be responsible for performance reporting, workforce capability development, and operational discipline, supporting SK tes mission of delivering sustainable and high‑performance recycling operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead production team and manufacturing activities as Area Owner in Battery Recycling Plant pertaining to the Production planning, Process troubleshooting and Quality control and improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, including resolving performance issues, discipline issue, time management and commitment of Production team.
- Establish the scheduling of production route sheet and team performance metrics, including monitoring output and adjusting schedules to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Accountable for productivity, quality, and training metrics of operators, and provide regular progress reports and manufacturing metrics to management and cross-functional stakeholders, including developing resolutions as needed to improve metrics achievement.
- Lead Production CIP (continuous improvement program), partner with engineering on investigations and/or corrective actions, perform non-conformance investigations for review with engineering, assures documentation content is valid.
- Accountable to ensure staff is appropriately trained to perform assigned work according to production WI. (Assignment during working hour and OT hour).
- Monitor raw material usage and availability required in daily production, including proposing resolutions to mediate shortages.
- Manage material and labor variances to meet established standards, including proposing resolutions to mediate shortfalls.
- Responsible for production machinery basic maintenance, maximise production output, machinery up time and monitor equipment performance with data recordings and production check list/route sheet/material transfer form/preventive maintenance records.
- Responsible for Production floor cleanliness and safety, perform 5S and housekeeping check in daily basis.
- Working with supervisors to improve process efficiency and stability.
- Co-ordinate with maintenance team to drive TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) system.
- Update monthly KPIs and present to management.
- Update skills matrix and machine utilisation for capacity planning.
Functional Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or other relevant Engineering disciplines.
- Relevant manufacturing experience in chemical or process plant industries, including responsibility for production operations and process execution.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork, collaboration, and willingness to learn.
- Strong experience in production and process operations, including manpower planning, machine utilisation, and capacity planning.
- Ability to perform material planning and process troubleshooting by leading supervisors and operators.
