A Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, and food safety regulations. They ensure meals are served on time, maintain a clean kitchen environment, and assist in managing kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet expectations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., proper storage, handling, and sanitation)
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or expired items
- Assist in receiving and storing food supplies
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Work closely with kitchen staff and follow instructions from the Head Chef or Supervisor
- Ensure timely preparation of orders, especially during busy hours
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven experience as a cook or similar role (preferred)
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
- Understanding of food safety standards and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management and multitasking skills
- Team player with good communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand for long hours and handle kitchen tasks
