Primary Role:
To oversee the preparation, assembly, and presentation of pastry and dessert items, ensuring consistent quality, taste, and visual appeal in line with the hotel's standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure proper portioning, garnishing, and plating of all dessert items for service.
- Monitor stock levels of pastry ingredients and coordinate with the store or purchasing team for replenishment.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the pastry preparation area in accordance with food safety guidelines.
- Assist in developing seasonal or promotional dessert offerings in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
- Check the quality and freshness of all received pastry products before use.
- Train and guide junior staff in pastry preparation and presentation techniques.
- Support other kitchen operations as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pastry preparation, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of dessert preparation and presentation techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent output.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
