Job Summary:
The Chef de Partie is responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauce, garnish). In a steakhouse, this role requires deep knowledge of meat preparation, grilling techniques, and plating standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook high-quality meat and side dishes to the steakhouse's standards
- Manage the assigned section of the kitchen efficiently and independently
- Ensure mise en place is complete before service
- Monitor portion and waste control to maintain cost efficiency
- Assist in ordering and inventory control
- Train and supervise junior staff (Commis)
- Maintain hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with regulations
- Collaborate with Sous Chef and Head Chef to develop and improve recipes
Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a steakhouse or Western kitchen
- Strong knowledge of beef cuts, cooking temperatures, and grill equipment
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- Passion for food quality and presentation
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
