Job Description

Job Summary:
The Chef de Partie is responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauce, garnish). In a steakhouse, this role requires deep knowledge of meat preparation, grilling techniques, and plating standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meat and side dishes to the steakhouse's standards
  • Manage the assigned section of the kitchen efficiently and independently
  • Ensure mise en place is complete before service
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain cost efficiency
  • Assist in ordering and inventory control
  • Train and supervise junior staff (Commis)
  • Maintain hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with regulations
  • Collaborate with Sous Chef and Head Chef to develop and improve recipes

Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a steakhouse or Western kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of beef cuts, cooking temperatures, and grill equipment
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • Passion for food quality and presentation
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
