Ryan Owen Associates is working with an established international dry bulk owner and operator looking to add a Chartering Manager to its Singapore commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior-level chartering professional looking to develop further within a hands-on owner/operator environment, with direct exposure to Handy and Supramax tonnage and regional dry bulk trades.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage chartering activities across Handy and Supramax vessels
• Source and evaluate cargo and tonnage opportunities
• Negotiate voyage and time charter fixtures with owners, charterers and brokers
• Monitor freight markets, vessel positions and cargo flows
• Calculate voyage economics and assess commercial opportunities
• Develop relationships with cargo interests, brokers and other market counterparties
• Work closely with operations and the wider commercial team to maximise vessel utilisation and profitability

Qualifications

• Around 2–5 years of dry bulk chartering experience
• Exposure to Handy / Supramax tonnage
• Experience within a shipowner, operator or dry bulk trading environment would be advantageous

Required Skills

• Good understanding of voyage calculations, charterparty terms and dry bulk markets
• Commercial, proactive and comfortable developing relationships in the market
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
