Job Description:
- Observation of marketsand market research
- Negotiations and fixingof charter parties
- Calculation and pricing of shipping deals
- Positioning of tonnage
- Worldwide communicationwith satellite offices, brokers, agents, owners and charterers
- Representation of thecompany
- Following performance of voyages and work closely with Operations Department
- Travel to domestic clients
Job Requirements:
- Must hold a Degree inMaritime Studies or related field or alternatively completed a fixed termapprenticeship in Shipping
- Fluency in English(spoken and written) is essential for this position
- Aptitude to negotiateand close business deals
- Must maintain strongproblem solving skills and have the ability to think outside the box
- Experience on theHandy- and Supramax trade is required for this role
- Must have had exposureto Atlantic and Pacific markets
- Has to be adaptable toan international setting and willing to work overtime regularly
- A high level of open-mindednessand creativity is necessary for the success of the role
- Demonstrating stronginterpersonal skills required to build and maintain relationships with existingand potential clients
- Expertise ininternational shipping and contract law is essential
- Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills
