In this role, you will be the guardian of software craftsmanship, ensuring that every system we build is clean, resilient, observable, and built to last. Alongside hands‑on architectural leadership, you will lead our Engineering Chapter—a community of practice dedicated to raising the bar for engineering quality, mentorship, and continuous learning across teams.
This is a senior, high‑impact role for someone who combines deep technical expertise, architectural vision, and people leadership in complex, regulated financial environments.
ROLE: Chapter Lead – AI-Native Engineering– Capital Markets IT
Key Responsibilities:-
Software Engineering & Craftsmanship
- Embed Clean Code principles (SOLID, DRY, YAGNI) as non‑negotiable standards across all teams.
- Own and evolve the engineering quality framework, including:
- Code review standards
- Static analysis and security gates
- Test coverage and performance benchmarks
- Lead by example through hands‑on contributions to critical codebases, deep technical reviews, and pair programming.
- Drive adoption of Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour‑Driven Development (BDD) to improve correctness, maintainability, and documentation.
- Define and enforce a robust Definition of Done (DoD) covering architectural, security, and performance quality gates.
Software Architecture
- Design end‑to‑end architectures for capital markets platforms (pricing, order management, risk, post‑trade) with a focus on low latency, fault tolerance, and auditability.
- Define, govern, and evolve technology standards, patterns, and reference architectures across the division.
- Lead architectural reviews and maintain Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) to ensure decisions are well‑documented, peer‑reviewed, and transparent.
- Balance short‑term delivery needs with long‑term architectural sustainability, clearly articulating trade‑offs.
- Champion event‑driven, domain‑driven, and cloud‑native architectures where appropriate.
GenAI / Agentic AI for Software Engineering
- Integrate GenAI and Agentic AI into engineering workflows to accelerate development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Build reusable GenAI components, prompt libraries, engineering agents, automated test generators, and code‑refactoring assistants.
- Partner with enterprise AI teams to ensure governance, data protection, and safe model usage.
- Track and report measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and delivery cycle time enabled by GenAI adoption.
Engineering Chapter Leadership
- Lead and grow the Engineering Chapter—a cross‑functional community of practice for software engineers across Capital Markets IT.
- Facilitate regular chapter sessions, tech talks, architecture storyboards, refactoring workshops, and book clubs.
- Define and maintain a shared engineering competency framework and career ladder.
- Mentor senior and principal engineers, providing structured coaching aligned with individual development plans.
- Partner with Tribe Leads and Product Owners to ensure engineering quality is protected under delivery pressure.
Technical Governance & Strategy
- Own the technology radar for Capital Markets IT, assessing and adopting tools and platforms in collaboration with global architecture teams.
- Lead technical due diligence on vendor solutions, open‑source frameworks, and cloud services.
- Track and present engineering health metrics (code quality, deployment frequency, MTTR, change failure rate) to senior leadership.
- Partner with Cloud, Security, and Infrastructure teams to embed shift‑left practices across the SDLC.
Qualifications & Profile :-
Education :-
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, or related discipline.
AI Proficiency
- Demonstrated use of AI‑powered engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity and problem solving.
