Job Description: CFO (Real Estate, International Business Division)
My client is a large regional property developer, with diverse real estate investments globally across different asset classes residential, hospitality, retail, commercial and industrial among others. The team has aggressive growth plans and a healthy investment pipeline across major global markets.
As part of their expansion plans, they are now seeking an ambitious, driven and commercially-savvy real estate finance professional to join their International Business Division as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Operating out of Singapore with travelling commitments (20-30%) to various countries of interest, the incoming CFO will have 2 primary areas of focus. Possessing strong commercial acumen and excellent networks in the financing space, the CFO will work closely with the CEO as well as other senior colleagues (Business Development/ Investment team, COO, Legal etc) to lead financing efforts and deal structuring to support their global investments. In addition, he/she will lead a well-oiled finance team to provide transformational and strategic direction over all financial, treasury, audit and tax matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct financial, treasury and tax matters associated with investments and operations within the International Business Division.
- Support the execution and due diligence for international investments, M&A and divestments.
- Leverage strong fund-raising capabilities and capital market experience in order to execute financing arrangements in support of investment activities.
- Ensure that financial reports for divisional operations and investments are provided in a timely and accurate manner for optimal decision-making.
- Ensure a robust internal controls environment, implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Provide guidance to ensure the division adopts the most efficient capital structure
- Partner with the business development team to aggressively grow the international investments and AUM in order to achieve the profitability KPIs
- Manage relationships with bankers, lawyers, real estate advisors, asset managers, fund managers, auditors and tax advisors
Job Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Accountancy/ Business/ Finance/ Banking; Additional relevant qualifications like CPA/CA/CFA or equivalent will be viewed favourably.
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience in middle and senior management roles, with sound understanding of the Real Estate sector, as well as real estate deal underwriting and structuring.
- Prior work experience across different geographical regions with cross-cultural experience in handling cross-border real estate transactions.
- Prior experience in leading and/or transforming finance teams is a big plus.
- High-energy and ambitious individual with a goal-driven mentality and a willingness to move out of one's comfort zone to achieve higher targets.
- Strong leadership skills with high levels of integrity and a growth mindset.
- Good technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think out-of-the-box for creative and practicable solutions.
