Job Description

Company Overview

IET PTE LTD, established in 2015, is a trusted partner in General Contracting and Manpower Supply, serving construction, aerospace, and railway industries. We provide skilled manpower, technical supervision, and workforce solutions for Singapore's infrastructure and engineering sectors.

Job Summary

Design and supervise sacrificial anode cathodic protection (SACP) systems for tunnel lining rehabilitation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols in a live railway environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design SACP systems for tunnel lining rehabilitation using site chloride profiles and BCI core sample data, ensuring compliance with BS EN ISO 12696 and NACE SP0216-2023
  • Prepare detailed SACP design calculations, anode spacing layouts, and protection zone drawings for submission to Project QP(D) and LTA Superintending Officer
  • Supervise SACP anode installation during night engineering possession hours (01:30am-04:00am) to ensure quality and safety standards
  • Perform and witness electrical continuity tests at every anode-to-rebar connection, verifying acceptance criteria of ≤1.0 Ω or ≤1.0 mV per PS Cl.8.5.8(f)
  • Verify open-circuit wire topology and full Stray Current Corrosion Control System (SCCCS) compliance before mortar encapsulation
  • Jointly sign off SACP Hold Point HS-3 with project QP(D) PE(Civil) prior to each mortar pour, ensuring project milestones are met
  • Plan and execute 6-monthly SACP monitoring surveys over a 3-year post-installation period using half-cell reference electrode measurements
  • Prepare and submit 6-monthly monitoring reports confirming −100 mV polarization shift in the protection zone per BS EN ISO 12696
  • Maintain accurate SACP records in the project TAMP digital management system for traceability and audit purposes
  • Coordinate with NACE CP1-certified manufacturer representatives during initial anode installation sessions as required by contract
  • Provide technical guidance to site teams on SCCCS compliance, insulated glove requirements, and safe work practices near the 750V DC third rail environment

Required competencies and certifications

  • NACE CP3 Cathodic Protection Specialist certification (minimum requirement NACE CP4 or higher is an advantage)
  • Minimum 3 years of cathodic protection design and field testing experience
  • Proven experience designing and implementing sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems on reinforced concrete structures, preferably in underground or marine environments
  • Familiarity with BS EN ISO 12696, NACE SP0216-2023, and LTA SCCCS Standard
  • Ability to work night shifts regularly during engineering access hours (01:30am to 04:00am)
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with QP(D), and site supervision teams
  • Singapore-based with full-time availability for the entire contract duration

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience working in live railway tunnel environments such as MRT Singapore
