The case officer will provide case management, financial counselling and support to clients who are facing with debt-related issues. The role involves assessing client needs, developing debt resolution plans, and connecting them to relevant financial and social assistance schemes. The officer ensures a client-centered approach while maintaining professional and ethical social service standards.
Job Description:
Case Management and Counselling
- Conduct intake interview and assessment to determine client eligibility for services and programmes.
- Develop and implement debt resolution plans tailored to clients financial situations including providing financial literacy education, budgeting and debt management strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client case records, intervention plans and progress reports. Ensure that correspondences are documented promptly.
- Monitor and review clients progress regularly
- Referral to appropriate social service agencies for follow-up support if required and provide case coordination by linking clients to appropriate resources such as employment services, housing assistance etc.
- Keep abreast of national help-agencies schemes and ensure that clients leverage the schemes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of services rendered to clients on a six-monthly basis.
- Provide psycho emotional support and conduct risk assessment where required for clients who are in distress
- Advocate for clients by liasing with various relevant agencies such as financial institutions and creditors
- Identify and escalate complex cases requiring more advanced case management intervention
Group and Community Work
- Assist in the planning and organizing of debt advisory support group sessions, financial education programmes and other support activities for clients.
- Facilitate support group sessions and perform the relevant follow-up actions required.
- Engage in collaborations with volunteers and relevant agencies for greater outreach to other helping professionals, individuals in debt and the general public.
- Support community outreach initiatives to raise awareness of debt advisory services
- Participate in inter-agency collaborations and workgroups to address systemic debt issues
Programme Development and Administration
- Maintain and update internal databases, ensuring accurate tracking of client information, service utilization, and programme outcomes.
- Assist in preparing reports, funding proposals, and other documentation required for programme evaluation and audit purposes.
- Work closely with other departments to coordinate financial and in-kind assistance for clients.
- Provide administrative support for case meetings, including scheduling, minute-taking, and follow-up actions.
- Respond to public and client inquiries regarding services and eligibility criteria.
General Operations, Administration & Corporate Communications
- Support all fund-raising and media campaigns on debt advisory services via the preparation of clients media profiles and staff interviews.
- Support all initiatives to enhance AMP's image vis--vis debt advisory programmes and services.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in social services, case management, or client support roles.
- Experience in handling financial assistance applications and social service coordination is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Islamic values and practices is an advantage.
- Fluency in multiple languages/dialects is beneficial for engaging diverse client groups.
