Lead and manage Capesize vessel chartering activities, including voyage and time charter negotiations.
Develop and maintain relationships with shipowners, operators, cargo interests, brokers, and other market participants.
Identify and secure cargo opportunities, with a focus on optimising vessel utilisation and profitability.
Analyse market trends, freight rates, and supply-demand dynamics to support commercial decision-making.
Negotiate charter party terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with company risk management policies.
Monitor voyage performance and coordinate closely with operations team to ensure smooth execution.
Oversee post-fixture matters, including freight collection and claims handling where necessary.
Prepare market reports and provide strategic insights to senior management.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant maritime regulations.
Requirements
Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in dry bulk chartering.
Strong understanding of charter party terms, freight market dynamics, and voyage economics.
Proven track record in cargo fixing and relationship management within the dry bulk market.
Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and market-driven environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to communicate in Mandarin (spoken and written) to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and business partners where required for commercial activities.
